Need
Millions of solar panels are being discarded every year, some of them still useable. There are millions of people without access to electricity all over the world.
Approach
Collect useable solar panels as well as batteries and distribute them to communities in need.
Benefits
Panels and batteries that would have ended up in landfills, have their use extended and provides communities in developing countries access to electricity.
Competition
Battery and solar panel companies are recycling used panels which is great if they have no useful life left in them. However, if they are still useful beyond a certain threshold, there is an opportunity for it to provide a limited capacity of use at a very reasonable cost.
